The Knicks embark on a three-game road trip beginning tonight in D.C.
New York has struggled on the road this season with an 8-29 record.
After the trip, they will have only one road game remaining (April 11 at Cleveland).
This is the third and final matchup of the season between these teams.
The Knicks will be looking for their first win of the season as the Wizards have won both meetings and took the previous matchup in D.C., 121-103, back on Jan. 3.
Tim Hardaway Jr. erupted for a career-high 39 points on 14-25 shooting Friday against the Timberwolves.
When these teams last met on Valentine’s Day, Hardaway had 37 points.
Will we see another 30-point performance tonight?
Emmanuel Mudiay and Courtney Lee started, but Frank Ntilikina and Trey Burke played the majority of the backcourt minutes on Friday.
Both Ntilikina and Burke thrived with increased playing time. Ntilikina scored 13 points in a career-high 37 minutes while Burke added 15 points and nine assists in a season-high 31 minutes.
The duo started the second half together and spearheaded an 18-2 run, but coach Jeff Hornacek said after the game he wasn’t sure who would start on Sunday.
Washington is one team that has given the Knicks fits lately.
The Wizards have won 15 of the last 16 games between the teams, including four straight at Capital One Arena.
Can the Knicks end their slide tonight?
