The Maven, Stan Fischler, is a big fan of the move and thinks Eberle is not only a good hockey player, but someone who adds something positive to the Islanders’ locker room.
There’s a lot to like about the @NYIslandes Eberle signing. It starts with his being a terrific team player. His point about special camaraderie on the club is noteworthy and his family loves Long Island. I always found him a pleasure to interview. Solid player, solid citizen.

Our Shannon Hogan expressed a similar sentiment, explaining that the feeling amongst the players in the Isles’ locker room is extremely close.
A big part of @jeberle_7 wanting to stay with the #isles is the tight knit group on and off the ice. He said this is one of the closest teams he’s ever played for. #NHL

Brendan Burke provided his commentary and explained why the chemistry between Eberle and Mat Barzal is something that will excite Islanders fans in the years to come.
This is no small part of this signing. Barzal and Eberle have something together. Now we get to see what that looks like after 3, 4, 5+ years together. #Isles https://t.co/zQspIklswJ
