Game Preview: Devils at Senators

BY: DAVID KOLB

NEW JERSEY DEVILS (12-11-6) @ OTTAWA SENATORS (16-11-3)

LOOKING FOR A W

The Devils will attempt to snap their four-game losing streak tonight, as they take on the Senators in Ottawa. The Canadian Tire Centre has been a happy hunting ground for the Devils in the past. In 38 games, the Devils are 21-11-2-4 with a .632 winning percentage.

HOT HENRIQUE

Devils Henrique Severson Smith-Pelly Away

Adam Henrique scored a goal and had an assist in Thursday’s loss to the Blues. After a slow start to the season, Henrique has turned it on. The 26-year-old has tallied two goals and three assists in his past four games, giving him seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in 29 games.

HOFFMAN OUT

The Senators will be without winger Mike Hoffman (nine goals and 21 points in 28 games) after he was suspended by the NHL for two games Friday. Hoffman was punished for cross-checking Sharks center Logan Couture in the head Wednesday.

ZAJAC SUCCESS

Travis Zajac notched an assist Thursday, giving him seven points in seven games in December and eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points this season. Zajac led the Devils with six points (two goals, four assists) against Ottawa last season.

CONDON BETWEEN THE PIPES

The Senators will go with Mike Condon in goal for tonight’s matchup. Despite losing his last three games, the 26-year-old has a 4-3-2 record this season with a 2.34 goals against average and .920 save percentage with two shutouts.
